Belarus, Azerbaijan to step up strategic partnership

MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) - Belarus and Azerbaijan are set to step up joint efforts to strengthen and further develop strategic partnership. Such agreements were reached during the working visit of Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Nazaruk to Azerbaijan, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Belarusian delegation also comprised representatives of the Industry Ministry, Agriculture and Food Ministry, and the Architecture and Construction Ministry.

Issues related to the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level were discussed with Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov, Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov, the Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev, as well as the leadership of the Food Safety Agency.

The current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in various fields, interaction on international platforms were discussed at the meeting with Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov.

“The parties also considered preparations to host a number of joint bilateral and multilateral events in the near future. The need was emphasized to step up joint efforts to strengthen and further develop strategic partnership,” the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
