MINSK, 3 October (BelTA) – Stability in Uzbekistan plays an important role in maintaining stability in the entire region. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus Rakhmatulla Nazarov pointed it out at a ceremony marking the 34th anniversary of the country’s independence, BelTA has learned.

The diplomat emphasized: “This holiday symbolizes the unity and indestructibility of the spirit of our people, reminds us of the history, rich culture and traditions of the country, of the heroism and devotion of our ancestors. It unites all those who are proud of their Motherland and feel personally responsible for its present and its future.”

The ambassador noted that over the years of independence Uzbekistan has formed the foundations of market relations and the republic pursues its own economic and foreign policy on the basis of national interests and universal values.

“Recognizing the country’s achievements, we set ourselves higher and more noble goals. Uzbekistan has been established as a fully independent, self-sufficient, and tolerant state,” he continued. ”Under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the country is going through truly historic transformations in the political, social, and economic spheres. A broadly diversified, multi-sector economy has been created and demonstrates impressive growth rates.”

“Thanks to the balanced and sensible policies of Uzbekistan’s leadership, peace and stability have been ensured in the country along with the peaceful coexistence of different nationalities and ethnic groups in an atmosphere of friendship, interethnic and civil accord. It is important to note that stability in Uzbekistan plays an important role in maintaining stability in the entire region,” Rakhmatulla Nazarov said.
