MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – China is successfully advancing on the path of modernization, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan said at an official event to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China foundation, BelTA has learned.
“I would like to express respect and sincere gratitude to friends from all walks of life who have supported China’s development and the strengthening of Chinese-Belarusian friendship over the years,” the diplomat noted.
“The People’s Republic of China was founded on 1 October 1949. Over the past 76 years, the Chinese Communist Party has united and led China’s multi-ethnic people in a great leap forward. This has enabled the Chinese nation to stand up, prosper, and grow in strength, achieving the miracles of rapid economic growth and sustained social stability,” the ambassador stated. “Under the leadership of the Chinese President Xi Jinping, China has successfully entered a phase of large-scale modernization, having won the biggest anti-poverty fight in history and built a comprehensively moderately prosperous society on time.”
Today, China is the world’s second largest economy, ranking first globally in merchandise trade volume, foreign exchange reserves, and manufacturing scale. “China has established the world’s largest social security, medical care, and healthcare systems,” Zhang Wenchuan continued. “Amid the global economic slowdown and complex contradictory trends in the world economy, China’s GDP grew by 5.3% year-on-year in H1 2025, maintaining a leading position among major economies. China’s contribution to global economic growth has exceeded 30%, making it a key driver of world economic development.”
