On 17 August, production commenced in Smolevichi District for the Belarusian-Russian joint film Batka Minay: The Partisan Legend which chronicles the story of Minai Shmyrev, the legendary partisan commander nd Hero of the Soviet Union. Tow studio are collaborating on the project, namely Belarusfilm (Belarus) and VoenFilm (Russia). Director is Igor Ugolnikov, People’s Artist of Russia (August 1941, Brest Fortress).
