On November 26 a commemorative rally was held in Gomel to honor the memory of the liberator heroes. Gomel was the first liberated regional center in Belarus during the Great Patriotic War.

The events on 26 November were attended by the regional and city authorities, members of parliament, representatives of the Russian Presidential Executive Office, official delegations from Russian regions, residents and guests of Gomel and Konstantin Rokossovsky, the grandson of the illustrious military leader.
