National Museum presents Dragon Boat Festival package

BEIJING, 30 May (BelTA - China Daily) - With Dragon Boat Festival approaching on June 10 this year, the age-old debate between sweet and salty zongzi, the traditional sticky rice delicacy, is set to reignite discussions among the public.

The National Museum of China has introduced a special Dragon Boat Festival package aimed at bridging the divide by catering to both preferences, as well as a third group that enjoys both flavors. The package features four distinct fillings, including yolk with pork, mushroom with bamboo shoots and salted pork for those inclined toward savory tastes, and red dates and red bean paste for the sweet-toothed individuals.

In addition to the zongzi varieties, the package includes a paper fan and a handmade cloth massage stick infused with Chinese mugwort, known for its unique aroma believed to offer health benefits.

The package's design draws inspiration from a classical painting in the National Museum's collection, specifically the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) masterpiece Dragon Boat Race on Jinming Pool, adding a touch of historical elegance to the festive offering.
