Baku is the capital and economic center of Azerbaijan, which is often called the "city of winds" as it is located on the shores of the Caspian Sea. In terms of architecture Baku is an eclectic blend of old and new. Examples of modern architecture in the capital are the Heydar Aliyev Center designed by the famous architect Zaha Hadid and the Flame Towers of three skyscrapers equipped with LED screens.
