MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – In January-May 2025, Belarusian enterprises increased their exports to Uzbekistan via the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) by 2.8 times. The total amount of transactions was estimated at $47.6 million, which made Uzbekistan the second biggest buyer of Belarusian products after Russia, BUCE press service told BelTA.

Most of these products were sawn timber, meat products and dry milk.

Top management of the association “National Economic Cooperation of Uzbekistan” that helps SMEs find trade partners abroad visited the BUCE headquarters in Minsk to discuss how partnerships with private businesses can help expand Belarus-Uzbekistan cooperation in exchange trade.

According to the founder of the association Fayoz Fakhriddinov, the association currently has over 30 members, and many of these companies are interested in trading with Belarus. “These are mainly small manufacturers and trading enterprises that would like to cooperate with Belarus, but are hesitant because they are not familiar with the Belarusian market. In my opinion, BUCE could provide Uzbek entrepreneurs with direct access to Belarusian enterprises,” he believes.

The meeting resulted in a cooperation agreement between BUCE and the Association “National Economic Cooperation of Uzbekistan”. In particular, there are plans to hold joint webinars on exchange trading, arrange visits of business delegations, and forward to BUCE applications to buy and sell goods received by the association from Uzbek business circles.

As of 6 June, 216 companies from Uzbekistan, including three stockbrokers, are accredited at BUCE;  39 of them have joined the exchange trade this year.
