Uzbek companies boost transactions on Belarus’ commodity exchange 2.2 times in 2025

MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – The transaction volume of Uzbek resident companies on the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) increased 2.2 times and amounted to $118 million in 2025, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.

“These were mainly purchases of Belarusian goods, namely timber, beef, milk powder and butter. In turn, participants from Belarus primarily imported textile raw materials from Uzbekistan. Over the past year, 75 new companies from Uzbekistan were accredited on BUCE. Another 10 joined this year. As a result, 262 Uzbek business entities are now users of the Belarusian exchange platform,” the press service said.

The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Belarus organized the first joint online seminar on exchange trading issues. The event was attended by representatives of small and medium-sized businesses from different regions of Uzbekistan. The seminar examined the key features of the BUCE electronic platform, practical aspects of participation in exchange trading and the advantages of using the exchange mechanism in the context of further development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

As noted by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus Rakhmatulla Nazarov, such events provide a clear understanding of how to apply exchange instruments in export and import activities, and thereby directly contribute to the involvement of Uzbek business in working on the BUCE platform.

“During our previous visit to the exchange, we agreed to hold an online seminar on exchange trading for Uzbek enterprises, and I am very glad that we managed to organize this event. I want to emphasize that all seminar participants are interested in the Belarusian market, so information about the capabilities of the exchange platform as a tool for purchasing and selling products will certainly be useful for them,” the Uzbek diplomat is confident.

Founded in 2004, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange conducted its first trading session in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises with export and foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. BUCE sells a wide range of metal, forestry and agricultural products, industrial and consumer goods.
