Russian government approves protocol on this year's prices for natural gas for Belarus

MOSCOW, 28 February (BelTA) – The Russian Federation government has approved the protocol, which amends the Belarusian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on the procedure for setting prices (tariffs) on natural gas deliveries to Belarus and its transportation via the gas pipelines located in Belarus of 25 November 2011. The relevant executive order of the Russian Federation Cabinet of Ministers of 27 February was published by the Russian official legal information website on 28 February, BelTA has learned.

The protocol extended the agreement till 31 December 2020. The protocol applies to legal relations that have emerged since 1 January 2020.

The protocol instructs the Russian Energy Ministry and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to get in touch with the Belarusian side and sign the protocol once the sides come to an agreement. The attached draft can be amended with minor changes.

In mid-January 2020 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko and Gazprom Chairman of the Board Aleksei Miller signed the protocol on the procedure for setting prices for natural gas to be delivered to Belarus this year.
