PM: EAEU will start drafting agreement on common gas market soon

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – The member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will start working on a draft agreement on the common gas market soon, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said on the air of the Belarus 1 TV channel on 7 February while commenting on the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Almaty, BelTA has learned.

"The strategy for the development of integration until 2025 was approved by the leaders of the EAEU member states. Now the Russian Federation, in accordance with the instructions given by the Eurasian Economic Commission, is preparing an international agreement on the common gas market," Roman Golovchenko said.

The prime minister noted that during the Almaty meeting the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council recommended accelerating this work. "The Russian colleagues show understanding in this matter. Therefore, I believe that soon we will start working on the draft agreement on the common gas market," he added.
