Norwegian Jotun Paints, Belarusian Lakokraska offer rust-inhibitive paints

MINSK, 22 March (BelTA) – The Norwegian company Jotun Paints and the Lida-based Belarusian company OAO Lakokraska are busy implementing the project to start the production of rust-inhibitive paint materials. Conditions and prospects of future cooperation were discussed at the 22 March meeting of Prime Minister of Belarus Mr Mikhail Myasnikovich and the delegation of the Norwegian company. The delegation was led by the company’s Vice President for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Mr Sukru Ergun, the press service of the Belarus government told BelTA.

The progress in implementing the joint project of Jotun Paints and Lakokraska was discussed. “Your company has good intentions regarding the work with OAO Lakokraska because it is one of our key enterprises. We are holding this meeting to once again make sure our work is effective,” remarked Mikhail Myasnikovich.

The Norwegian company Jotun is an internationally recognized leading manufacturer of paint materials. It has representative offices in 50 countries. The merchandise is widely used in port construction, water engineering, oil extraction and processing.

In October 2010 OAO Lakokraska and Jotun Paints (Europe), a daughter enterprise of Jotun, signed a license agreement on the joint production of paint materials. In November 2011 the enterprise was set up and the production of innovative protective materials began. The products passed tests of OAO Belaruskali and OAO Grodno Azot. As a result, in 2012 OAO Lakokraska sold 56 tonnes of rust-inhibitive paint materials on the home market. In 2013 the enterprise will continue working to raise the output using Jotun Paints’ formulas. Lakokraska’s output capacity can fully satisfy the domestic demand for rust-inhibitive paint materials.
