
MINSK, 17 February (BelTA) - Belarus and Kazakhstan have good prospects for building up mutual trade and investment cooperation, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations of the House of Representatives Sergei Rachkov told reporters, BelTA learned.
Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Timur Zhaksylykov in Minsk on 17 February.
“We attach great importance to the development of cooperation with Kazakhstan in all areas. In 2024, mutual trade between our countries amounted to $1.1 billion. We have very good prospects for increasing mutual trade and developing investment cooperation,” Sergei Rachkov said. “We also attach great importance to inter-parliamentary cooperation with Kazakhstan. A large friendship group has been set up in the National Assembly. It consists of 18 deputies of the House of Representatives and members of the Council of the Republic. We also have an interparliamentary commission on cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Parliament of Kazakhstan.”
