MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – In January-July 2025, the average occupancy rate of hotels in Minsk reached 67.2%, which was 7.4% more year-on-year, Aleksei Rusakevich, Director of the Minsk Information and Tourism Center, said at a press conference to discuss the development of Minsk’s hotel and hospitality sector, preliminary results of the spring-summer tourist season, and plans for the future, BelTA has learned.

“In 2024, the city’s hotel occupancy rate reached 60.9%, which was up by 8.5% compared to 2023. Over one million people stayed in Minsk’s hotels and similar accommodation facilities last year,” Aleksei Rusakevich noted. “Demand for hotel accommodation is primarily driven by foreign visitors. The share of foreign guests has traditionally exceeded 70%. In 2024, foreigners accounted for 73.3% of all hotel check-ins in the city.”

The largest numbers of visitors came from the Russian Federation, China, Latvia, Lithuania, and Uzbekistan. The reported figures are the highest in the past ten years.
