Libyan delegation examines Belarusian vehicles, machines on display outside BelExpo

MINSK, 3 July (BelTA) – A Libyan delegation was made familiar with a number of Belarusian vehicles, machines, and equipment showcased outside the Minsk International Exhibition Center BelExpo, BelTA has learned.

Belarusian First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lukashevich told reporters that trade and economic cooperation is the key area of interaction with Libya.

“Today a Libyan delegation of our friends is touring this excellent exhibition. The best samples of products made by the Belarusian manufacturing sector, which we show to our friends with great pride and pleasure,” he said. “There is no doubt that the visit is very important. Our friends are thinking about pros and cons, evaluating the products, and see the actual products that we have. It is much better than our talking about these products and showing slides or models during visits.”
The first deputy minister of foreign affairs stressed that this visit is indeed very important. “We welcome the arrival of our friends and, undoubtedly, their deep interest in advancing trade and economic cooperation,” he remarked.

Head of Libya’s National Development Authority Jibril Daoud Khalifa Salim commented on the quality, diversity, and modern designs of Belarusian industrial goods and agricultural machines. In his words, respectively the country has a strong leader and promising companies that want to advance.
“It means that Belarus follows the right track,” he said. “Everything we want we have found here, in Belarus and at a good price. We would like to work with Belarus because we have seen serious people.”

The head of Libya’s National Development Authority pointed out that Minsk is a very beautiful and clean city populated by excellent people.

The Libyan delegation was also made familiar with the temporary exposition “Road to the Victory”, which is still available in the Minsk International Exhibition Center BelExpo.

The House of Libya in Belarus was opened in Minsk earlier following the example of the opening of the House of Belarus in Benghazi, Libya in May 2025. The house was opened for the sake of bolstering the bilateral relations.

BelTA reported earlier that a delegation of the Libyan government led by Prime Minister of the Government of National Stability Dr. Osama Hamad is in Belarus on a visit. The working visit is aimed at stepping up bilateral interaction in various branches of the economy and at establishing solid business ties between the countries.
