Grodno, Russia’s Kaliningrad sign cooperation agreement

GRODNO, 9 April (BelTA) – Grodno and Kaliningrad, Russia signed a cooperation agreement on 8 April during a visit of a Belarusian delegation led by Grodno Mayor Andrei Khmel to Kaliningrad, the Grodno City Executive Committee told BelTA.

The delegation will participate in events celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Königsberg.

During the visit, the delegation is also set to share experience in various areas of urban development and seek new markets for product distribution. The delegation includes representatives of leading industrial enterprises of Grodno. Their goal is to establish new contacts.

"Our regions are quite similar in many ways: almost the same population size, area. The structure of the economy, social sector and public utilities is also very alike. We have a lot to offer each other and many mutually beneficial developments to share," Andrei Khmel stated.
