Grodno Oblast to invest more in infrastructure this year

GRODNO, 5 December (BelTA) – Another Br16 million will be spent on a number of facilities stipulated by the Grodno Oblast investment program in 2025. The decision has been approved by the Grodno Oblast Council of Deputies, BelTA has learned.

The funding of the Grodno Oblast investment program exceeds Br382 million this year. The money has been appropriated for projects like the reconstruction of a railway bridge, the beautification of residential areas, the construction of rental housing, the reconstruction of a road section in Grodno District, the reconstruction of a hospital wing to make it a district polyclinic in the town of Ostrovets (it will be commissioned in December). The money will also be spent on a site for installing a solid municipal waste sorting line in Voronovo District and a multifunctional sport complex in Grodno.

New projects, which are launching this year, have been added to the investment program. Those include the reconstruction of a boiler house in the town of Mosty and the reconstruction of water supply and wastewater disposal systems in Zhirovichi. The latter is particularly important since ideal order must be restored in the agrotown by spring upon instructions from the country’s president. The agrotown where one of the key relics of the Belarusian Orthodox Church is located – the Holy Dormition Monastery in Zhirovichi – has to live up to its high status since it attracts tens of thousands of people every year.
