Ganja Automobile Plant assembles nearly 15,000 Belarus tractors

BAKU, 6 May (BelTA) - A Belarusian government delegation headed by Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin visited Ganja Automobile Plant that closely cooperates with Belarusian industrial giants

Ganja Automobile Plant has been assembling BELARUS tractors since 2007. “We have produced nearly 15,000 units so far. I hope we will hit this milestone this year. We have also assembled about 3,500 MAZ vehicles,” Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ganja Automobile Plant Khanlar Fatiev told journalists.

He recalled that the assembly of tractors in the country started after the visit of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to Belarus. “This is all the fruit of the arrangement between our presidents who continuously support these initiatives,” Khanlar Fatiev noted. “Today, Belarus and Azerbaijan are friendly, brotherly nations.”

Following the talks between Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin and his Azerbaijan counterpart Ali Asadov on 5 May, Ganja Automobile Plant signed a memorandum of cooperation on tractor supplies with Minsk Tractor Plant and a contract on supply of utility vehicle kits with Minsk Automobile Plant.
Khanlar Fetiev said that this year the plant plans to assemble up to 1,000 tractors. “Last year we rolled out 780. We are also constantly working with Minsk Automobile Plant,” he noted.
