ALGIERS, 2 December (BelTA) – Belarusian dairy products are competitive in the Algerian market, Director General of Slutsk Cheese Factory Aleksandr Gerasimyonok told journalists on the sidelines of a business forum in Algiers, BelTA reports.
He described the Algerian market as very promising and one of the largest purchasers of dairy products in the Middle East and North Africa. “We began working there in 2024 and continued this work in 2025. We already have solid partners, and we are making big plans for 2026,” said the company’s director. “There is demand for our goods; our Belarusian products are already recognizable. They are high-quality, reasonably priced, so we are competitive here.”
According to Aleksandr Gerasimyonok, the Algerian market is primarily interested in skim milk powder and whole milk powder.
“The country’s market capacity is estimated at approximately half a million tonnes per year,” he noted, referring to the total volume of dairy imports. “That is a very large market, and therefore it is of interest to us. The interest from the Algerian side is also evident. Our visit confirms this, as literally every day we have meetings, negotiations, and establish new contacts.”
