
MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) - The Eurasian Development Bank forecasts continued wage growth in Belarus in 2025, BelTA learned from the EDB weekly macro review.
"Further wage growth is expected amid high competition for personnel and the budgeted increase in wages in the public sector," the EDB noted.
In January 2025, real wages in Belarus rose by 13.5% after growing by 12.5% in December 2024. In the public sector, wages grew by 13%, facilitated by a 6.7% increase in the basic pay rate and additional allowances for certain categories of public sector workers. In the non-budget sector, wages rose in all industries, particularly in construction (by 18.8%), agriculture (by 17.5%), and trade (by 15%).
