MOSCOW, 27 January (BelTA) – The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has approved the recommendation “On facilitating cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union member states in the field of hydrogen transport production”, BelTA learned from the EEC press service.
“The document sets a course for the collaborative effort of member states in the production of new types of environmentally friendly transport powered by hydrogen fuel cells and hydrogen fuel, as well as the creation of refueling infrastructure in EAEU countries,” the press service informed.
Gohar Barseghyan, Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Commission, commented on the decision: “The recommendation will facilitate the progressive development of pilot innovative production of hydrogen transport. This will create technological groundwork in this area and bring us closer to the standards of global industry leaders.”
Key areas for cooperation outlined in the recommendation include developing supply chains for components for hydrogen transport prototypes, sharing experience in the practical implementation of pilot projects, initiating demonstration projects to increase public confidence in new fuels, establishing Eurasian hydrogen competence centers, and adapting existing production facilities to manufacture components for hydrogen technology.
