MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) – The construction of the Belarusian-Chinese Industrial Park can start in 2012, Kirill Koroteyev, the head of the main directorate of investment of the Economy Ministry, told media on 14 March.
“Practical implementation of the project will start once the head of state approves the draft decree,” Kirill Koroteyev said. The decree will give a green light to developing a joint project, investing money to the authorized fund of the joint company and launching design work.
According to Kirill Koroteyev, the government approved the draft decree on 13 March. Both Chinese and Belarusian parties are ready to start practical work. “The park will be focused on electronics, engineering industry, fine chemistry and biomedicine. The park’s residents will work in these areas,” Kirill Koroteyev added.
Speaking about advantages that Belarus will get from the joint project with China, Kirill Koroteyev mentioned investments. “Let us be frank. The current regime of the free economic zone is not very efficient in these issues,” Kirill Koroteyev explained.
In addition, the project will create new working places. According to Kirill Koroteyev, private initiative will be welcomed.
