MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) – The CIS Economic Council is holding a meeting in Dushanbe. The press service of the Belarusian government told BelTA what projects were approved and ratified.
Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Natalya Petkevich took part in the meeting as the national coordinator for CIS issues and a member of the CIS Economic Council.
The council reviewed 23 issues aimed at strengthening cooperation between the CIS countries.
They include the drafts of the Digitalization Strategy for the CIS Major Multimodal Transport Corridors, the CIS Strategy for a Digital Economy and Information Society 2035, the CIS Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development for 2026-2035.
The CIS Economic Council also approved the 2026 draft unified budget and the action plan for the second stage (2026-2030) of its Economic Development Strategy.
The CIS Economic Council also passed an interstate program to improve the quality of life for veterans of wars and local conflicts and their families across member states for 2026-2030. Additionally, events were planned for the 2026 CIS Year of Healthcare.
In addition, the draft regulations governing the establishment and operation of competence centers, subcontracting centers, and centers of excellence within the framework of the Interstate Program of Innovative Cooperation were approved.
The meeting also included a review of the issue concerning the establishment of base organizations of the CIS states in the fields of adult and pediatric traumatology and orthopedics.
