MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) – Belarus’ abundant resources should be used as efficiently as possible. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Piotr Parkhomchik made the statement during a plenary session of the nationwide seminar-conference on building energy sources powered by local fuels in the Republic of Belarus, BelTA has learned.

“Our country has plenty of resources, which should be used as efficiently as possible,” Piotr Parkhomchik noted as he opened the session.

The deputy prime minister remarked that using wood pellets as a local kind of fuel is becoming important now. “The country has a lot of investment projects, in which nearly all the oblasts of Belarus have participated. Taking into account Western sanctions it is necessary to consider and resolve the issue,” he stated.

Piotr Parkhomchik reminded that every oblast had been instructed to use wood pellets to satisfy at least 10% of one oblast’s need for fuel taking into account the facilities that have been created in specific regions. “I encourage our regions to demonstrate certain commitment,” the deputy prime minister said.
