MINSK, 8 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian car manufacturer BelGee intends to double the number of robots used as part of the manufacturing process this year. Director General of SZAO BelGee Gennady Svidersky made the statement on the air of the Belarusian TV channel ONT, BelTA has learned.
BelGee could paint 60,000 car bodies per annum in the past. Once robots were introduced, the capacity went up to 120,000. “And as we increase the payroll budget, we can increase the manufacturing volume,” Gennady Svidersky noted.
The enterprise initially had 34 robots, which were in place when the factory was commissioned in 2018. “Now we have 70 robots. As for the current stage of modernization that is taking place this year, I think their number will be close to 140,” the director noted.
