Belarusian buses lauded in Russia's Rostov Oblast

ROSTOV-ON-DON, 25 September (BelTA) - Belarusian passenger transport vehicles have proved their worth in the cities of Russia's Rostov Oblast. The region will continue purchasing them, governor of the region Vasily Golubev told the media after a meeting with State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Grigory Rapota, Executive Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Parliamentary Assembly Sergei Strelchenko and heads of the Belarusian mass media outlets. The meeting was held in Rostov-on-Don on 25 September.

The governor noted that the Belarusian producers took into account the wishes of the Rostov-on-Don transport industry after the vehicles were tested. “We are going to continue to work together. Transport vehicles have proved their worth. They are approved by technical staff and by passengers. We continue the transport upgrade program. We did a a lot ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and purchased 75 buses in Belarus for Rostov-on-Don alone,” Vasily Golubev noted.

Speaking about other types of equipment, the governor said that recently one of the Rostov companies that sells Belarusian engineering products decided to support those who buy Belarusian agricultural machines.

“I would like to highlight our cooperation in the supply of elevators. Every year, the cities in the region replace a great amount of elevator equipment,” Vasily Golubev continued. The Belarusian producers also offer good maintenance options.

On behalf of Belarus the meeting was attended by BelTA Director General Iryna Akulovich, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the Belarus Segodnya publishing house Dmitry Zhuk, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the Zvezda publishing house Pavel Sukhorukov, and Director of the National Press Center Sergei Protas.
