GOMEL, 24 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian steel mill BMZ increased exports to non-CIS countries by more than 70% in 2024, Dmitry Korchik, Director General of BMZ - Managing Company of BMC Holding, said at the informational meeting with the staff of the drop-hammer shop, BelTA learned from the enterprise.

Speaking about the results of the last year, the director general noted an increase of more than 70% in the export of products to non-CIS countries compared to the sales volumes of the year before last. According to the director general, the growth rate of steel production amounted to 102%. All manufactured products have been sold. The enterprise operates with positive profitability, which allows it to fulfill all social obligations.

“The main task for January is to increase steel production. The task is difficult, but achievable. The beginning of the year is always a difficult time. This is largely due to the long vacations of our partners, including scrap receivers. Gradually the situation will level off. Belvtorchermet has been working since 2 January. A small stock of scrap metal has been formed in advance, so any problems with raw materials have been minimized,” Dmitry Korchik stressed.

He also thanked the team of the drop-hammer shop for their work in 2024. “I am glad that together we are successfully overcoming the emerging difficulties and expanding production. Thank you very much for your work. I am sure we will successfully cope with all the tasks we face in 2025. After all, the most important thing is the economy of the enterprise. Only joint effective work will let us further improve our welfare,” the director general said.

The public joint-stock company (OAO) BMZ, the Management Company of the holding company Belarusian Metallurgical Company (BMC), is a high-tech Belarusian metallurgical enterprise. It comprises infrastructure shops and four manufacturing divisions connected by one technological chain. The divisions focus on steel smelting, mill products, pipe products, hardware items.
