MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – A joint venture producing compound fertilizers using Belarusian potash and nitrogen fertilizers is to be established in Vietnam by December 2012, Director of the trading house Belarus-Vietnam Yuri Nikov told reporters on 19 September, BelTA has learnt.
Yuri Nikov noted that the project was approved by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam. “The facility will be located in Quang Nam Province in Central Vietnam. The building for the future plant has already been purchased; the necessary equipment is now being acquired. The production is to come on stream by mid-December,” he said.
In his words, the project is estimated at about $10 million. The company will specialize in the production of compound fertilizers. The major components will be supplied by Belarus. The plant will produce 300,000-500,000 tonnes of fertilizers per year.
