Belarus, Vietnam aim to increase economic potential through tech cooperation

MINSK, 31 August (BelTA) – During a visit to Vietnam’s Lao Cai Province, a Belarusian delegation led by Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko oversaw the handover of BelAZ dump trucks to a Vietnamese company. During the visit, Belarus’ Belshina and the Automobile Industry company signed a deal for the supply of 500 tonnes of natural rubber. A contract to deliver two containers of tires for the BelAZ vehicles was also signed, BelTA has learned.

The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeyenko, the leadership of Lao Cai Province, as well as representatives of Belarusian and Vietnamese companies.

The handover of these BelAZ dump trucks marks a significant milestone in Belarus-Vietnam trade and economic partnership. For decades, the BelAZ brand has been a legendary symbol of Belarusian industrial power and innovation. These machines integrate cutting-edge technology with unparalleled productivity and cost-efficiency.

“We are ready to continue sharing our advanced engineering technologies, conducting joint research and personnel training, providing service maintenance to make the operation of dump trucks as efficient as possible. Profound cooperation in raw materials and technological chains can reduce costs and increase the overall economic potential of our countries,” Igor Sergeyenko said.

On the instructions of the president, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko is on a visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to participate in the solemn events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Independence Day. The Belarusian delegation includes representatives of BelAZ (the managing company of BelAZ Holding Company), Belshina, and MTZ.

The economic program of the visit features a meeting with the leadership of Lao Cai Province, the participation in ceremonies for the handover of a batch of BelAZ haul trucks and the signing of bilateral documents on supplies of Belarusian and Vietnamese products. A licensing agreement on the establishment of a joint tractor assembly production facility in Vietnam will be signed in Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnam will mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Independence Day on 2 September with a military parade and a theatrical procession in Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, where President Ho Chi Minh proclaimed the country’s independence in 1945.
