MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) - Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Istanbul Evgenia Bortkevich visited the city of Bursa and held a series of meetings to discuss ways of deepening regional cooperation, expanding business contacts, and promoting humanitarian projects, BelTA learned from the Belarusian foreign mission in Istanbul.
The Belarusian diplomat met with Deputy Governor of Bursa Province Mustafa Güney. The parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between Belarus and Bursa in trade, economy, investment, and tourism and reviewed the opportunities for establishing direct links between regions and municipalities of both countries.
Another important part of the program was a meeting with Vice Mayor of Bursa Municipality Orkun Gazioğlu. The discussion focused on joint projects in urban infrastructure, organic fertilizers, electric transport, and education. Special attention was devoted to the development of Bursa’s innovative ecosystem and local technoparks and research centers. The consul general presented the potential of the Belarusian high-tech sector and national innovation platforms, expressing interest in establishing direct contacts between the technoparks of Bursa and those in Belarus.

The parties discussed the interaction in the field of organic fertilizers and electric transport, in particular, the exchange of experience in the processing of biological waste, production of environmentally friendly fertilizers, and initiatives in electric bus manufacturing and charging infrastructure. Mr Gazioğlu expressed readiness to foster ties between the relevant municipal bodies and Belarusian partners to implement joint projects, share experience, and support startup initiatives.
During the visit, negotiations were also held at the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The parties explored the opportunities to expand contacts between Belarusian and Turkish companies in industrial cooperation, textile and food industries and also talked over the participation of Belarusian enterprises in exhibitions and business events. The parties agreed to support direct business contacts and prepare concrete joint initiatives. Following the visit, both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continuing an active dialogue, filling Belarusian-Turkish regional cooperation with tangible content and meaningful projects.
