MINSK DISTRICT, 19 September (BelTA) - A new complex of the Minsk-Beltamozhservice-2 transport and logistics center has opened near Minsk, BelTA has learned.
Attending the opening ceremony was Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky, Head of Belarusian Railways Valery Verenich, and Director General of the Beltamozhservice state enterprise Dmitry Kovalenok.

“The opening of the complex is a step towards the development of logistics, including in the eastern direction. The flow of goods has been reoriented. Over 80% now move across the borders of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. This is the import and export for our economic entities. We will continue to develop capacity within the country. Next in line, a year from now, is a major logistics complex in Vitebsk Oblast, near Vitebsk. It will also be intended for processing cargo to and from the east. So, if the western gates are closed to us, we go through the eastern ones. We are doing everything to ensure the logistics flow does not stop but, on the contrary, increases,” Vladimir Orlovsky said.
Dmitry Kovalenok thanked them for the high assessment and the trust placed in the Beltamozhservice state enterprise to develop the infrastructure. “The two main objectives pursued by the enterprise are creating comfortable conditions for business and for employees. The ecosystem of the Minsk-Beltamozhservice-2 transport and logistics center is now complete. This will attract additional cargo flows here,” he added.
In 2023, the Belarusian president issued an order to expand the terminal's area for the construction of additional transport, warehouse, and administrative/housekeeping infrastructure.
The reconstruction covered over 5 hectares of space. A third warehouse complex has been set up. The building area is 5,000 square meters, with over 1,500 square meters allocated for business process organization. The new warehouse is equipped with a rack storage system with a capacity of over 5,000 pallets, including 6 refrigeration chambers (over 850 pallet spaces) with the capability for deep freezing goods.

A truck parking lot for 110 vehicles has been set up, the area for placing railway containers has been tripled, and a site for an inspection-screening complex has been allocated. Road and railway infrastructure within the terminal has been built and reconstructed.

According to Vladimir Orlovsky, this is a significant event for the customs bodies. The development of one of Belarus' largest transport and logistics centers has been completed. It will handle cargo, including shipments destined for Russia and China. Previously, there was a shortage of such logistics facilities with freezing capabilities in Minsk and Minsk Oblast.

In total, the Beltamozhservice state enterprise provides services at 11 transport and logistics centers in all regional cities, Bobruisk, and Orsha, and at 7 warehouse complexes. Four terminals are multimodal. Three transport and logistics centers have refrigeration chambers. The transport and logistics centers offer a full range of logistics services: cargo operations for goods, cargo consolidation, and product marking.
The new complex will have nine refrigeration chambers in operation. A 30% increase in the amount of goods processed at the terminal is forecast. Before the new facilities opened, an average of over 37,000 tonnes of goods were processed here monthly, and about 1,200 tonnes daily.
