Belarus to increase base rate to Br273 on 1 September

MINSK, 14 August (BelTA) - Belarus will increase the base rate for salaries of public-sector employees to Br273 on 1 September 2025, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian government.

The corresponding resolution was signed by Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin.

The Labor and Social Security Ministry noted that this is the second base rate increase this year, following a 6.7% rise from Br253 to Br270 on 1 January 2025. Compared to last year, the 2025 annual average base rate will grow by 8%. 

Additional measures are being introduced throughout the year to enhance incentive payments for specific categories of workers of the social sector. 

The base rate increase will impact over 800,000 public sector workers. The measures have already driven an 18.8% year-on-year increase in average monthly salaries for public sector organizations during the first half of 2025, reaching Br2,010.8. Real wage rose by 11.8%. 

Overall, the 2025 budget allocates approximately Br20.7 billion for public sector employees, including Br2.69 billion designated for additional incentive payments to specific categories of workers.
