Belarus’ social and economic development program until 2030 almost ready

MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) - A working group is putting the final touches on the draft program for the country's social and economic development for 2026-2030, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank Roman Golovchenko told the media on 25 October, BelTA has learned.

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed a directive in early October to establish a working group for finalizing the draft program for the country's social and economic development for 2026-2030. The group includes delegates of the Belarusian People's Congress, current and former heads of government bodies, real-sector economy organizations, and scientific and public associations. Roman Golovchenko was appointed its head.

The head of the National Bank described the finalization process. “We are now in the final stage. A large number of proposals and additions have been received, both from delegates of the Belarusian People’s Congress and from public discussions. Certain debates on refinements are still ongoing within the subgroups. The key areas that required more attention and generated the most interest are regional development, leveraging the unique potential of each region, as well as the agro-industrial complex and enhancing the innovative capacity of the economy. New ideas are important to help the economy reach a new stage of innovative development,” he said.

On 25 October, the management and specialists of the National Bank joined the Bringing Forests Back to Life campaign in the Kopyl Forestry Enterprise, planting 6,500 spruce and oak saplings. “Everyone responded with a unified drive to the call to participate in the nationwide clean-up day, and not just somewhere in the office, but in the field, in challenging weather conditions. It's rainy, but nevertheless, the mood is excellent. The target for planting forest crops has been fulfilled,” Roman Golovchenko said.
