Belarus, Russia discuss key implementation areas for Union State Treaty through 2029

MINSK, 4 December (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia are discussing key areas for planning Union State integration in the new cycle, Deputy Economy Minister Alesya Abramenko said at a meeting with Russia’s Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Roman Chekushov, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry.

The meeting was also attended by Chairperson of the State Standardization Committee Yelena Morgunova and First Deputy Minister of Taxes and Duties Vladimir Mukvich.

The event took place on the eve of the meeting of the High-Level Group of the Union State Council of Ministers, which is being held in Minsk today. During the talks, the parties discussed approaches to developing key areas for implementing the provisions of the Union State Treaty for 2027-2029 and took stock of the interim results of the work done to finalize the strategic planning document for the new cycle.

Particular attention was paid to developing joint measures to protect the common market, emphasizing that imported products must meet all quality and safety requirements, and to combating unfair competition from certain manufacturers.

The parties agreed to continue active cooperation on all issues of mutual interest, utilizing the integration platforms of the Union State, the EAEU, and the CIS.
