MINSK, 4 December (BelTA) - During a meeting of the High-Level Group of the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia on 4 December, Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi explained how Belarus and Russia are replacing imports and supplying the joint market with microelectronics and machine-building products, BelTA has learned.
Among the key areas of cooperation with Russia, Dmitry Krutoi highlighted investment projects to modernize major enterprises of Belarus’ industrial sector, including Integral, Planar, BelAZ, Gomselmash, and others. Special emphasis is placed on expanding industrial cooperation in high-tech industries such as aircraft construction, microelectronics, and machine-building. “For example, the roadmap of the Integral holding is being implemented in microelectronics. New technological processes have enabled the production of innovative items and the replacement of Western products. Both sides are now considering the creation of a unified register of microelectronics. Integral is a clear example of our successful cooperation over the past three years: 48 Russian enterprises work with our holding, and more than 65 types of microchips have already been substituted, totaling nearly $20 million. We need more such examples,” he said.

As for machine-building, a strategy has been developed to jointly supply the Union State market with critically needed types of equipment, such as laser and gear‑processing machines, and others.
Dmitry Krutoi also emphasized the implementation of the decree of the Supreme State Council of the Union State on a unified industrial policy, adopted in January 2024. “A list of programs supported by the Russian side has been drawn up, with Belarusian producers participating. Work is underway to prepare a similar list for 2026.I would like this work to be completed as soon as possible,” he added.
This year, Minsk hosted the industrial exhibition INNOPROM. Belarus for the first time. During it, Belarus and Russia presented their joint developments. “Numerous bilateral agreements and contracts were signed. We hope such a forum in Minsk will become a tradition, because Belarus is an industrial country with strong competencies. We would like to make this event annual,” the head of the President Administration stressed .

Extensive work is also being carried out to protect the internal market of the Union State. “Mechanisms are being developed to prevent so-called gray imports from third countries. To this end, amendments have been proposed to the decree of the Supreme State Council of the Union State on combating illegal imports of goods,” Dmitry Krutoi stated.

“An important tool for facilitating barrier‑free trade within the Union State should be the work of the Committee on Standardization and Quality, which is currently in the final stage of its creation. Its activities will enable the development of harmonized requirements for goods produced in our countries,” he concluded.
