Belarus, Rostov Oblast considering joint projects in road construction

MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) – Belarus and Rostov Oblast are planning to implement joint projects to build roads in the Russian region. This matter was discussed at the working meeting of First Deputy Transport and Communications Minister of Belarus Aleksei Lyakhnovich and Rostov Oblast Deputy Governor - Minister of Transport Vladimir Okunev, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry.

“The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to cooperation in the transport sector. They reached a preliminary agreement to build bridges and other infrastructure facilities with the participation of Belarusian road companies in Rostov Oblast,” the press service informed.

The Belarusian side outlined another promising area of cooperation: Belarus' road construction and design organizations are ready to offer their services in creating airport infrastructure. Among the projects they have accomplished is the runway at National Airport Minsk and the airport in Orsha. They are now working on the construction of a runway in Leningrad Oblast.
