MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian power grid continues operating steadily and reliably after the Baltic states disconnected from the Belarus-Russia-Estonia-Latvia-Lithuania (BRELL) power ring, the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.
According to the source, the 330kV power line Kingisepp – Baltic No.1 was disconnected at 10:09 on 8 February. The step was the final technological operation to stop the operation of the power grids in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia in parallel with the power grids in Belarus and Russia.
The Belarusian power grid continues operating in parallel with Russia’s power grid within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
The Energy Ministry assured that thanks to a previously implemented complex of measures designed to improve the stability of operation of the power grid all the consumers in Belarus get as much electricity and heating as they need.
