Belarus’ PM: Labor costs in public sector will go up 14.7% in 2025

MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) – Belarus to increase labor costs in the public sector by 14.7% in 2025, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting of the Council of Ministers on 21 August, BelTA has learned.

“The budget for 2025 has been formed based on the target scenario of forecast parameters. In the process of finalizing and coordinating the draft budget and amendments to the Tax Code with the stakeholders, the basic figures saw no significant changes. As in previous years, the budget will remain socially-oriented,” Roman Golovchenko said.

Thus, social spending will go up by almost 14% compared to this year's estimate, including Br1.7 billion more for education and Br1.5 billion for healthcare. “Labor costs in the public sector will be increased by 14.7% to amount to Br20.2 billion. The amounts allocated for social benefits will also get higher. Pensions will grow commensurate with labor remuneration in the public sector,” the prime minister said.

The state will continue to subsidize the construction of housing for those in need of better living conditions, and also the necessary infrastructure. For these purposes, the budget provides Br2 billion with an increase of 7.6% against this year's estimate.
