MINSK, 10 July (BelTA) – Belarus showcased its experience in developing cross-border exchange trade in goods at the GLOBE Pakistan Summit 2025 organized by Pakistan’s Commerce Ministry, the press service of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) told BelTA.
The event took place on 10 July, combining online and offline formats. It bought together industry experts from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Türkiye , and Uzbekistan.
Representing Belarus at the summit was Head of the BUCE Foreign Economic Activity Department Yaroslav Kovalchuk. He noted that the key features of Belarus’ exchange trade system include full digitalization of all business processes, a strong export orientation, a wide range of goods, and an extensive network of trading partners.

“In Belarus, the exchange is not merely an electronic B2B platform, but a comprehensive mechanism that ensures efficient resource allocation in the domestic market, simplifies import-export operations, and unlocks the country’s foreign trade potentialю Today, Belarusian enterprises can trade with companies from 82 countries via the commodity exchange, concluding over half a million transactions annually. Each transaction is completed with payment and physical delivery of goods,” Yaroslav Kovalchuk said.
He also highlighted significant untapped potential for deeper Belarus-Pakistan cooperation in the exchange sector.
“Cooperation with Pakistan is developing along two areas: working with Pakistani businesses to attract them to exchange trading, and engaging with the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange to share information, experience, and technologies. Given the importance of the Pakistani market in Belarus’ foreign economic strategy, special attention will be paid to boosting exchange trade with Pakistan this year and next. There is room to expand the range of traded goods, increase turnover, and strengthen inter-exchange cooperation,” Yaroslav Kovalchuk added.

Founded in 2004, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange conducted its first trading session in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises with export and foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. BUCE sells a wide range of metal, forestry and agricultural products, industrial and consumer goods.
