Belarus outlines social, economic development priorities for 2026-2030

MINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – Deputy Economy Minister Mariya Mazhinskaya outlined the priority areas set out in the draft program for Belarus’ social and economic development for 2026-2030 during an intersectoral group meeting on economic issues of the Council for Sustainable Development, the press service of the Economy Ministry told BelTA.

The document includes digitalized indicators and specific tasks aimed at achieving the country’s strategic priorities. The deputy minister briefly characterized each priority area of the draft program 2030.

“By strong regions, we mean creating attractive and comfortable living conditions anywhere in the country. We see the achievement of the ‘rental housing’ priority through the intensification of housing construction: rental, individual, renovation, etc. And all this is primarily to support young people, stimulate the birth rate and attract workforce to the regions. Quality roads are, first and foremost, accessible and developed infrastructure that meet the demands of the society for high mobility. Therefore, it is planned to repair about 25,000 km of roads over the five-year period,” she noted.

According to her, the “tourism” priority will offer a new quality and high accessibility of tourism services, thereby creating an attractive tourism brand for Belarus. “We have set the task to increase the contribution of the industry to GDP by more than 1.6 times,” Mariya Mazhinskaya emphasized.

The “digitalization and technology” priority addresses the tasks of ensuring technological self-sufficiency and creating new domestic technologies in priority areas. The digitalization of management processes and the transfer of administrative procedures to an electronic format will continue.

Mariya Mazhinskaya stressed that the implementation of the program will ensure the sustainable development of the country and create more favorable conditions for the life and work of every citizen.
