MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Belarus’ National Bank Aleksandr Yegorov held an online meeting with the representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) at the fund’s invitation, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarus’ National Bank.
The National Bank emphasized that the dialogue between Minsk and Washington had resumed after a 3.5-year break.
“We are glad that we have the opportunity to hold the planned meeting, even online. I believe it is very important that we can continue meetings with the International Monetary Fund. Over the past years, a number of issues have accumulated that we must first discuss with the IMF and, second, make a number of decisions for our further productive cooperation. For our part, we are eager to discuss all issues,” Aleksandr Yegorov said.
“We have prepared a short report on the current macroeconomic situation to inform the IMF about the ongoing trends in our economy and monetary sector,” he added.
