Belarus' MTZ approved for state procurement programs in Russia

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – Products of the Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ trademark) has been included in the register of Eurasian industrial products, which gives the Belarusian plant the right to participate in state procurement procedures in Russia, BelTA learned from the plant's press service.

“The register includes BELARUS tractors with engine capacity from 80 to 355hp. This is a total of 68 models and modifications. We expect that the right to participate in state procurement in Russia will let us meet the needs of our regular and new customers,” said deputy marketing director for commercial work in the CIS markets, head of promotion and sales in the CIS Mikhail Vardugin.

In accordance with Russian Government Decree No.616 of 30 April 2020, from 1 June 2020 a ban was imposed on the admission of industrial products originating from foreign countries (except for member states of the Eurasian Economic Union) for state and municipal procurement, as well as for the needs of Russian defense and security.

The prerequisite for the possibility to participate in procurement procedures was the availability of information on such products in the registers of industrial products manufactured in Russia or in the territory of a member state of the Eurasian Economic Union. For this purpose, MTZ together with the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry worked on obtaining an act of examination of compliance of manufactured industrial products with the requirements for the purpose of their classification as products manufactured in Belarus. Documents for inclusion in the register were submitted through the Russian state information system of industry to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

As a result, on 8 February 2021 the products of Minsk Tractor Works were included in the register of Eurasian industrial products.
