MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) – A strong economy rests on balance, reasonable decisions, expediency and control, Chairman of the Standing Commission on Legislation and State Building of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Rusy said at a joint sitting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic on 23 April, BelTA has learned.
Chairman of the State Control Committee of Belarus Vasily Gerasimov addressed the MPs with a report on the performance of the committee.
“The head of state always emphasizes that a strong economy rests on balance and assessment, economic expediency and control, and reasonable decisions. Expediency should be paramount,” Mikhail Rusy said.

An effective manager needs to know how to make decisions, be responsible for them and get effective results, the MP noted. “The State Control Committee has already found the relevant approaches, and we, legislators, can suggest ways to improve control measures. We as legislators need to work together to avoid leaving gaps in this area as well,” he said.
