MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – Belarus produced import-substituting products worth about $30 billion in 2024, First Deputy Economy Minister Andrei Kartun said in an interview with the First News Channel, BelTA reports.

“We are implementing investment projects in several areas. They include import-substituting projects, commercial projects, as well as the One District - One Project initiative. We also run integration projects with Russia. The output of import-substituting products is estimated to approach $30 billion in 2024. What is important, we export half, even more than half of our output. This year this figure is set to exceed $31 billion in equivalent,” Andrei Kartun said.

The production of electric trucks has been launched. “They are made by two of our industrial giants - Belkommunmash and MAZ,” the first deputy minister noted.

The One District - One Project initiative has been running for several years now, and the portfolio features more than 200 projects. “Some regions are already implementing 5-6 projects, not just one. We will implement this portfolio of more than 200 projects in 2025-2026. Simultaneously, starting from 2025, a new investment portfolio will be compiled. Most of its projects will be implemented in the manufacturing industry. We have now expanded this list to include construction of tourist facilities or infrastructure that will generate a certain added value for the region. These projects will be included in the so-called regional initiatives,” Andrei Kartun noted.
