MINSK, 28 November (BelTA) – In January-September 2024 the trade between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan increased by 14.1% year-on-year, Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Sivak said at a meeting of the Belarus-Kyrgyzstan intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, BelTA has learned.
“Kyrgyzstan is an important trade and economic partner of Belarus in Central Asia. Our relations are making good progress in all areas. Belarus and Kyrgyzstan share approaches to addressing many pressing problems of our time, and they also cooperate within the framework of international organizations. The meetings of the intergovernmental commission have become regular. I am glad to acknowledge that our partnership holds out amid challenges, like COVID-19, the difficult geopolitical situation and sanctions,” said Anatoly Sivak.
According to him, despite the difficulties, good momentum is maintained. “Over the first nine months of this year, the trade between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan grew by 14.1% to approach $135 million. We expect to see good progress in this field in 2024,” the deputy prime minister noted.
