Belarus' HTP, Oman building contacts in IT

MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – Belarusian Hi-Tech Park is establishing cooperation in information technology with Oman, BelTA learned from the press service of the Hi-Tech Park.

Belarusian Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Aleksei Bogdanov paid a working visit to Oman. Kirill Zalessky, Deputy Director of the Hi-Tech Park, joined a Belarusian delegation. The delegation toured the InvestOman investment and consulting hub and met there with Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion of Oman Qais Al-Yousef to discuss, among other things, the prospects of scientific and technical cooperation.

Kirill Zalessky held business negotiations with representatives of ITHCA Group, during which the parties outlined ways to develop joint IT initiatives. The parties also discussed the experience of supporting promising ideas and projects. The key functions of ITHCA Group include active work on building Oman's IT infrastructure, scaling networks and expanding the Sultanate's digital capabilities. ITHCA Group scales data centers and cloud storage, builds cybersecurity infrastructure, and works with national and international organizations and foreign partners to implement strategic ICT initiatives.

Сooperation plans with the Oman National Engineering and Investment Company, a provider of services to the utilities and engineering sector in Oman, were consolidated in a bilateral memorandum signed during the visit. The organization showed practical interest in cooperating with the Hi-Tech Park’s resident companies on FoodTech and VR-technologies projects.

During the meetings of Kirill Zalessky and the leadership of the State Council, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, the Central Bank and the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the parties confirmed their readiness to work together to promote cooperation in IT.

Speaking at the Belarusian-Omani Business Forum, Kirill Zalessky described the competitive advantages of the Hi-Tech Park and presented potential areas of cooperation with the park’s resident companies. During the subsequent B2B negotiations, Omani business circles showed an active interest in establishing partnerships with the Belarusian Hi-Tech Park’s resident companies based on the real needs of the Omani market.
