MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Some 5 million tonnes of grain has been threshed in Belarus so far, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 10 August, some 5,009,000 tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, were cropped in Belarus.
The regional breakdown is the following: Brest Oblast harvested 1.31 million tonnes, Grodno Oblast 1.048 million tonnes, Minsk Oblast 1.086 million tonnes, Gomel Oblast 593,000 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast 574,000 tonnes, and Vitebsk Oblast 398,000 tonnes.
Belarus has harvested 50% of areas planted to grain crops (maize, buckwheat and millet not taken into account), which makes up 1,003,000 hectares.
Some 171,000 tonnes of food grain have been delivered under the state procurement program, representing 24% of the target, along with 83,000 tonnes of rapeseed oilseeds, fulfilling 87% of the plan.
Flax has been pulled from 28,000 hectares, accounting for 58% of the planned area.
Second-cut grasses have been mowed on 895,000 hectares, 84% of the target.
Some 321,000 tonnes of hay (44% of the plan) and 11.470 million tonnes of haylage (82% of the plan) have been prepared so far, including 360,000 tonnes stored in polymer packaging.
