MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – Belarus and Georgia are considering the possibility to set up a business cooperation council, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Georgia Nikolai Rogashchuk told journalists, BelTA reports.
“Our number one priority will be promoting trade and economic relations (which is required of all embassies), increasing trade and export of our goods to the Georgian market,” Nikolai Rogashchuk noted.
The diplomat added that Belarus and Georgia maintain good relations at the regional level and this interaction needs to be scaled up. “It is a bottom-up thing. We need to help our regions to build contacts. And one more thing. There is a request from the Georgian side (we have talked about it with our businesses) to create a business cooperation council. Businesses always reach agreements faster than officials. We will help this council to come into being. This will have an impact on our export to Georgia,” the ambassador emphasized.
