CAIRO, 19 February (BelTA) – Belarusian companies are set to sign contracts worth $16 million at the minimum in Egypt, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Vladimir Ulakhovich told reporters on the sidelines of the talks between the presidents of Belarus and Egypt on 19 February, BelTA has learned.
A business match-making session is taking place in Cairo these days. It has brought together more than 30 Belarusian companies and about 120 businesses from Egypt. In addition to that, business people will also meet at the Belarus-Egypt Business Cooperation Council that will be held in the format of a business forum.
“Contracts worth about $16 million have already been compiled and will be signed at the forum. These contracts provide for supplies of Belarusian products,” Vladimir Ulakhovich said.
Most of the arrangements have to do with the mechanical engineering industry. Minsk Tractor Works accounts for half of the deals. The company is set to sign contracts to the tune of $9 million.
According to the BelCCI chief, it is possible that the aggregate amount of deals will increase on the back of contracts to be signed by other companies these days.
