Belarus economy demonstrates steady growth in H1 2024

BYKHOV DISTRICT, 7 August (BelTA) – Belarusian economy demonstrated  sustainable growth in the first half of 2024, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko told the media during a working visit to Mogilev Oblast.

"We are on track of sustainable economic growth, meeting almost all goals," the prime minister said. “Probably, we will underachieve a little in export, but we are still in the positive territory. Export physical volume has surged by 8%, but we are under-performing in monetary terms. However, since the beginning of the year we have seen a gradual and progressive recovery of export prices.”
All these factors give grounds to draw certain conclusions. "There are reasons to believe that by the end of the year we will reach the target in terms of the integral financial indicator of export. Inflation is under full control. Its rate is at 5.8% year-on-year and 3.4% since the beginning of the year. It means that it is within the range. This is another evidence that overheating is not a concern for our economy," Roman Golovchenko emphasized.
